Wife, friend, mother and adventurer, Elizabeth, our mother, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg with her loving family at her side. She was born in Montclair, NJ to R. Wilbur and Lillian Thomas. She grew up in Upper Montclair NJ and on Long Island NY. She married her summer sailing teacher Paul A. Dicke upon his return from WWII in 1947. They moved to New Bremen, Ohio to raise their family. She worked for a local accountant. Liz was active in St. Pauls United Church of Christ where she served as organist and taught Sunday school. She volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, other worthy local causes and was a past member of St. Marys Boat Club and Turkey Creek Yacht Club. She loved to cook for the family, play bridge, travel and care for the children. Upon retirement Liz and Paul built their home The Anchorage near Labelle, Florida. Their love for the Great Lakes sailing and adventure drew them to the warm Caribbean and Gulf coast waters of Florida where they sailed and cruised for nearly 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul A. Dicke; infant sons, Mark and Peter Dicke; grandson, Michael Dicke. She is survived by her sons Paul A. Dicke, Jr. Janet St Marys Ohio, David T. Dicke Ruth Perrysburg, Ohio and her daughter Elizabeth A. Dicke, Celina Ohio, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Graveside services for both Elizabeth and Paul will take place at 11 AM, July 7th 2012 at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen, Ohio. Donations in her name can be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio 30000 River Road Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or to the family for her personal wishes.
