Elizabeth "Betty" Orth

Elizabeth “Betty” Orth, age 94, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 under hospice care at her son, Terry Orth house. She was born on September 19, 1927 in Genoa to August F. and Emma M. (Hoeft) Kohntopp. Betty’ parents migrated from Germany in 1923 and she was a lifelong resident of Genoa and was baptized, confirmed and married by Rev. Paul David at St. John United Church of Christ in Genoa. She began working at the Elmore Basket company and later was a machinist for Atlas Industries in Gibsonburg, Ohio for 25 years. Betty was also a member of the Genoa Senior Center, an avid Ohio State Fan, and loved her two dogs, Box and Buttons. Betty is survived by her son, Terry Orth; grandchildren, Jeremey (Sandy) Orth, Jenny Orth, Brian Orth and Tony (Heather) Orth, Jennifer (Craig) Szczublewski, Julie (Adrian) Beach, Marc Radon and Michael (Erin) Radon; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin, parents, infant daughter, Jacqueline and siblings, Freida Albright, Erick and Emil Kohntopp and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Orth. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West Street, Genoa, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, November 5, 2021 in the funeral home. Interment will be in West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg, Ohio.
