Elizabeth Anne Beaver claimed her heavenly reward on October 16, 2023. She was 80 years of age. Anne was born in Salisbury, NC on July 26, 1943 to William Ernest Beaver Jr and Elaine Goodson Beaver both who predeceased her. She grew up in Spindale NC and graduated from R-S Central High in 1961. She was a member of the National Honor Society, several clubs and was the first freshman to make the varsity girls basketball team, where she scored many points as a star forward.
Anne attained her BA in English from Women’s College in Greensboro, NC and graduated in 1965. She then began her teaching career in Maryland and taught high school English for over 30 years, mostly at Friendly High School and served as head of the English Department. She also served as girls basketball coach, girls softball coach and as an assistant girls track and field coach.
Anne was an avid sports fan. She played golf, softball and tennis and loved following her favorite teams the Atlanta Braves and NC State Wolfpack.
Anne retired from teaching in 1998 moving to Myrtle Beach SC where she made many new friends in the ladies’ golf group and was proud of her “3” Holes in One! She also loved flowers and grew amazing Hibiscuses and Roses. She kept her mind sharp playing Bridge, computer games, puzzles, and loved reading a good mystery.
Her nieces and nephew were like her children. Above all things she taught them to laugh. She could tie their socks or sleeves together faster and tighter than should have ever been possible. They all still enjoy singing and laughing at the songs she made sure were a part of her repertoire.
Anne is survived by (sister) Sharie Dean, sister Lee Hullings (Ed) of Loris, SC, her brother Bill Beaver (Freda) of Asheboro, NC, nieces - Meredith Dolson (Doug) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sally Trivette of Charlotte, NC, Rebekah Bradshaw (Gavin) of Charleston, SC, and nephew - Brent Beaver (Jill) of Rockville, MD. She also leaves behind great nephews - Matthew Dolson, Noah Dolson, Jacob Beaver and great niece, Kaitlyn Beaver.
Heaven, get ready, there is going to be a big party!
Anne’s wishes were to have no services. Arrangements are being conducted through the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, Ohio.
