Elizabeth Jane Andrews

Betty Andrews, age 96, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Sunset Village surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 3, 1915 in Toledo, OH. She graduated from Scott High School and the University of Toledo. Betty loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was an active participant in many clubs and activities including bridge, investment club, gourmet group, and bowling league. She was a past president of the Toledo Bar Association Auxiliary. Betty had a green thumb- a talent and love of gardening. Most of all, Betty loved spending summers at Clark Lake with her husband, Allen, family, and good friends. Betty will be remembered for her positive outlook on life, sense of humor, and most of all, her love of family. She was famous for saying Youre a good person. to all of those who helped her in life. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Harry T. Fowler and Helen Fowler Forsgard; husband, Judge Allen J. Andrews; and son-in-law, Jerry W. Thornton. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Brubaker Scott, Susan Thornton, and Laurie Boggs John; nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the health care providers, as well as the support staff of Sunset Village, Barlow Court, for the professional, kind, and loving care of Betty throughout her stay. They especially want to thank her trusted friend, Kathy Dubry, for her supportive care over the years. A memorial service is planned for Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00am at Hope Lutheran Church, 2201 Secor Road. Memorials for Betty may be given to Hope Lutheran Church, 2201 Secor Rd.
