Elham May Mourad

Elham “Ellie” May Mourad, 70, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her home in Toledo, Ohio with her family by her side. She was born on September 15, 1946 in Lebanon to Sylvia (Shaheen) and Mahmoud Mourad. Ellie married Ahmad Mourad in Lebanon on December 6, 1960. They were married for 57 years. Ellie worked at Taylor Kia for many years where she was known as “Momma Ellie”. Her boss Stephen Taylor said after hearing of her passing, “Your Mom meant so much to me. She was such an amazing woman.” He went on to say “She was the epitome of the perfect dedicated and loyal employee. I wish I had more Ellie’s at every store. She loved her family more than anything and I am so glad that I was able to have had the opportunity to work with and get to know your Mom.” Ellie is survived by her spouse Ahmad; her children Sena (Bruce) Friedman, Jehad Mourad (Leah Poremsky), Hanasa Mourad, Majida Mourad and Moubine (Laura) Mourad. Her grandchildren Majeed Fick, Charine Mourad, Moubine Mourad and Musa Mourad. Her great granddaughter, Rumi Fick and her siblings Jameel, Ahmad, Sarah and Youssef Mourad. In a service held on July 2, 2017, on behalf of the family, her Son Moubine paid tribute in which he said “Elham May Mourad meant so much to so many different people. Each of us can speak from a point of view of being her best friend. Our family had it made, a true blessing because we had the unique opportunity of calling this woman Mom.” Five doves were then released in her honor.
