Eleanor M. Kazmaier Merrill

Eleanor (Kazmaier) Merrill, 101, of Perrysburg, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at The Manor of Perrysburg. She was born on December 2, 1916 in Perrysburg to Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Kazmaier (Lulu E. Schneider). She was married on May 12, 1966 to Alfred H. Merrill, who preceded her in death in 1988. She graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1933. Mrs. Merrill was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She also served on the Heritage Committee. Eleanor was employed by the family business, Kazmaier’s Market, for 22 years. She enjoyed sewing, genealogy, flowers, gardening, and Historic Perrysburg. She is survived by son, Richard A. Sarver, Sr. of Big Pine Key, FL and Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Richard (Laura) Sarver, Jr. of Key West, FL, Tammy Sarver of Little Torch Key, FL, Brian (Linda) Hufford of Perrysburg, OH, Anita (Robert) Kolvey of Perrysburg, OH, Lisa Jones of Reynoldsburg, OH, Stephanie Sarver of Toledo, OH; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Robert J. Kazmaier, Allen C. Kazmaier; daughter, Shirley S. Hufford. Friends will be received on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133), where a Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 Noon, with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
