Eleanor M. Zwyer

Eleanor Mary Zwyer, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Rosary Care Center, where she was a patient for almost 2 years. She was born in Miller City, Ohio on September 8, 1927 Ohio to Bernard and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Riepenhoff. Eleanor met her loving husband Robert while working in Maumee, Ohio, they were married in June of 1946 and together raised six children. She was a very devoted mother and housewife, and very skilled in the growing, preserving and delicious preparation of food. Eleanor was a devout Catholic serving in the St. Elizabeth Altar and Rosary Society, and spent years taking care of the sacristy and priest garments. Throughout her lifetime she made over 3000 wire rosaries and also enjoyed quilting. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of 71 yrs., Robert; children, David (Linda) Zwyer, Judy (David) Emerson, Carol (Dallis) Marsh, Ronald (Shirley) Zwyer , Ann (Bill) Kuebler; brother, Jim (Jane) and sisters, Rita( Herm) Schmenk and Lucille Shields; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Pinson; granddaughter, Barbie; brothers, Clarence and Leonard; sisters, Mary Nartker, Norma Recker, Ruth Smith, and Clara Schroth. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption , 2649 OH-120, Swanton, OH 43558. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Richfield Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eleanors memory may be sent to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the donors favorite charity. Arrangements by the Walker Funeral Home.
