Eleanor R. Lauman

Eleanor Ruth Lauman, age 84, passed away Sunday April 18, 2010 at Lake Park Care Center in Sylvania, OH. Eleanor was born August 27, 1925 in Toledo, OH to Arthur and Florence Murphy Burns. She worked at the Chevy Plant and later at the former Lion Store and Dillards. An avid gardener, Eleanor loved the outdoors and was a member of the National Camping and Hiking Association. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting holiday parties, especially on Thanksgiving and New Years Day. She was always kindhearted to dogs and cats and was a loving wife, mother, and sister. Eleanor is survived by her son, Gary; and brother, Donald Burns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son, Kenny; siblings, Evelyn Barrett, Robert Burns, and Arlene Oetzel. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. Toledo, OH 43623. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Street Mission.
