Eleanor Elaine Debo, 88, of Perrysburg passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Eleanor was born October 26, 1932 to Leo and Helen (Cieslak) Wichowski. She graduated from St. Adalbert grade school and Central Catholic High School. She met the love of her life at Central and they married in 1952. She became a widow in 1988 when Howard Debo passed away. She loved the vacations with her husband and children and also the many years they enjoyed their pool. In later years, she looked forward to having lunch with friends and playing cards. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a volunteer for many organizations, giving 25 years to Mercy Hospital in all departments and also serving as secretary and treasurer for the Auxiliary for four years. After the hospital closed, she became active with Mercy College Auxiliary and served as a board member for many years. She had many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading and gardening. Eleanor was a member of St. Rose Altar Rosary Sodality, The Salesian Club, St. Vincent Mercy Auxiliary, The Ability Center and All Thumbs Garden Club. She was a member of St. Rose parish where she volunteered and served as president of the Sodality. She received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Toledo Council of Catholic Women. Eleanor lived the last 1 ½ years at Perrysburg Commons where she made many friends and enjoyed the activities with the wonderful staff. Eleanor is survived by her children; Jeffrey (Patty) Debo and daughter, Patricia Lusher and Dean Lusher and grandchildren, Thomas, James and Ashley Debo and Andrew (Katelyn) Lusher. Friends and family will be received Sunday, Jun 6, 2021 from 1-3 P.M. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). A special thanks to her good friends Joanne and Luke and the excellent care she received from St. Luke’s Hospital Staff. Memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor’s name to St. Rose Catholic Church.
