Eleanor Danaher, age 96, of Sylvania Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. The daughter of Matthew and Rose Downey, she was born on January 10, 1913 in Detroit, Michigan. Eleanor taught in the Washington Local School System for 27 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and she enjoyed playing cards especially the game of bridge. Mrs. Danaher is survived by her daughter, Kate Mike Cassidy of Sylvania, OH; grandchildren, Molly Brian Kuczinski of Pittsburgh, PA, Michael Cassidy of Cleveland, OH and Gayle Dan Trame of Taylor Mill, KY; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Danaher and son, Gerald Danaher. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd., Toledo, on Sunday from 3 to 8 pm. A mass of the resurrection will be held on Monday at 11 am St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3011 Carskaddon, Toledo, 43606. Interment will be at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, MI on Tuesday. Memorial requests may be made to the St. Pius X church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
