Eleanor Theresa Dacey

October 10, 1924 — April 4, 2016

Our Beautiful Angel, Eleanor Dacey, passed away on April 4, 2016 at her home with loving family by her side. She was born October 10, 1924 in Toledo to the late George and Mary (Biel) Sczublewski. A 1942 graduate of Woodward High School, Eleanor worked in the office at Autolite before devoting her time to raise her family. She was a longtime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish where she helped in the school library and sang in the church choir, which was very important to her. Also in her free time, she enjoyed collecting angels, crochet, reading, doing word search puzzles, and baking. Eleanor was well known for her Polish coffee cakes and making sugar-free desserts for the parish fish fry. Family was most important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kathie (Richard) Heerdegen, Mary Lou (Richard) Siebenaller, Paul Dacey and Judy (James) Loeffler; grandchildren, Tony, Teresa, Christopher, Victoria, Monica, Katie, Abigail and Nicholas; great grandchildren, David, Danielle, Madelyn, Joseph and Gwendolyn; and sisters, Joan (Walter) Zale and Lola Kondalski. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Dacey in 1995; son, H. Joseph Dacey; and eight siblings. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Services will begin with prayers in the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 and proceed to Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue, Toledo, for 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials contributions are suggested to the church or ProMedica Hospice.
