Eleanor L. Chio

Eleanor Louise (DeCant) Chio, also known as Ellie, of Jerusalem Twp., age 80, passed away January 2, 2019 with her family by her side. In her earlier years Ellie loved country line dancing with her husband, going to casinos and planting flowers. She also loved her job as a waitress for many years at Freeway Restaurant in Oregon. Ellie always said the lines on her face were from smiling so much at her job. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Larry Greer Chio; sons, Garry (Becky) Chio, Richard (Carolyn) Chio; daughter, Debra (David) Yap; 4 grandchildren; 5 stepgrandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Richard DeCant and sisters, Phyllis Roth and Kathryn Lowery. Visitation will be at Hoeflinger- Shank Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Oregon, OH (419-691-6768) on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2 pm – 8 pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m followed by entombment at Restlawn Memorial Park, 3665 Genoa Rd, Perrysburg, OH.
