Elaine E. Mylander

Elaine Esther (Myerholtz) Mylander, 82, passed away on February 15, 2022. She was born on January 30, 1940 to Albert and Esther (Deininger) Myerholtz.

Elaine attended the Toledo Hospital School of nursing where she obtained her RN diploma. She worked as a public health nurse and home hospice, all in Ottawa county. Elaine was involved in the 4-H as well as a master gardener where she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She has entered multiple flower shows. For many years, she volunteered at Schedel as well as numerous church activities. Elaine enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, freezing and wine making. She has participated in various physical fitness programs and loved her home and church family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Melvin Mylander; daughters, Laura (Robert) VanNess and Beth (Troy) Thorbahn; grandchildren, Libbe (Edward) Lewis, Kurtis (Bailee) VanNess, Audrey (Jacob) Berg and Phillip Thorbahn; great-grandchildren, Eddie Jr., Maggie Laine, Havenn and Dawson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin and sister, Karen.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 East Water Street, Oak Harbor, Ohio.  The funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, Ohio with additional visitation will be held from 10-11 am in church.  Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery.  Memorial donations can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Rocky Ridge Memorial Fund.
