Elaine C Brubaker

Elaine C. Brubaker, aged 82, of Sylvania, Ohio, and formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024, at Ebeid Hospice Center. She was born on June 7, 1942, in Salem, Ohio, she was the daughter of Christian A. and Stavroula C. (Christofaris) Nyktas.

Elaine’s life was marked by her dedication to helping others, a passion that led her to graduate from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology. She devoted her career to social work, serving the Child Services Bureau and Toledo Head Start, where she made a significant impact on the lives of many children and families.

On June 30, 1968, Elaine married Carl William Brubaker in Boardman, Ohio. Their union was blessed with love, companionship, and two daughters, Stephanie and Angela.

A faithful member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Toledo, Elaine’s commitment to her faith and community was unwavering.

She is survived by her loving husband, Carl; daughter, Stephanie Cape; grandson, Julian Cape; son-in-law, Joe Wilt; siblings, Antonia Culliton, Maria Harrold; and many nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angela Wilt; sister, Katherine Kapalko; and brother, George Nyktas.

Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm with Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 740 N. Superior St, Toledo, Ohio 43604. The burial will be private in Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral or to Metavivor Breast Cancer Research, 1783 Forest Dr. #184 Annapolis, MD. 27401.
