Eileen L. Chio, 81, of Oak Harbor, died early Monday morning, July 10, 2017, at Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit in Sandusky. She was born May 27, 1936, in Fremont, Ohio, to Ralph B. and Olive (Leiser) Clayman. On May 28, 1955, she married Benjamin R. Chio, Jr. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, where she has been a longtime member. Eileen worked as a teachers aide at Carroll Township School and also in Alaska and Florida, where she and Ben had lived. Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ben, daughter, Robin Brewer of Oak Harbor, son, Jeremy (Theresa) Chio, and daughter, Regan Chio both of Dallas, TX, 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, sister, Marjorie Zak of Oak Harbor, and brothers, Robert (Connie) Clayman of Illinois and Daniel (Holly) Clayman of Huron, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2017 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor with burial to follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions for Eileen may be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor or a charity of the donors choice.
