Edwin C. Myers

Edwin Clare Myers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the Oak Harbor community, passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 86. Edwin was born on May 4, 1937, to the late Ross and Vesta (Winkle) Myers in Burgoon, Ohio. He was a 1955 graduate of Ross High.

Edwin was a hardworking and skilled individual who dedicated his life to his craft as a Tool and Die Maker. Prior to his career as a Tool and Die Maker, Edwin served in the Army and National Guard. Outside of work, Edwin had a passion for the simple joys of life. He possessed a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. Whether he was making his own lures, mowing the grass, or indulging in the tranquility of fishing, Edwin found solace and contentment in these activities. His love for travel took him far and wide with the Oak Harbor Bus Group, and one of his memorable adventures was a train journey to state of Washington, to Canada and back.

Edwin was a man of many talents and interests. He had a knack for building things and constructed a garage that stood as a testament to his craftsmanship. He was always on the lookout for hidden treasures and enjoyed attending auctions, flea markets, and garage sales, where he found joy in discovering unique items and engaging with fellow enthusiasts. In addition to his many interests and accomplishments, Edwin had a particular fondness for automobiles. One of his most prized possessions was his chartreuse and black Mercury convertible.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Muriel; sons, Timothy C. (Mary), Charles A. (Lori), Joseph P.; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 niece and 2 nephews. In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Jean Cook; 1 niece and 1 nephew.

Friends and Family will be received from 2-8 pm on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 165 East Water Street, Oak Harbor, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 12, 2023 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rushau Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
