Edwin "Ed" R. Raetz

Edwin “Ed” R. Raetz, 72, of Genoa, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio, after a brief illness. Ed was born in Capac, Michigan on June 4, 1948 to Edwin and Pearl (Lesage) Raetz. He married Ruth M. (Schroeder) in Capac, Michigan on August 19, 1967 and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2003. Ed spent his entire life working as a millwright for several local companies, retiring only recently. Ed was a tireless worker. He would often come home after a long day and work in the garage on his Corvette and Corvair cars. He also enjoyed working in the flower gardens and taking care of his four-legged friends, Tripper, Tillie, Bailey and Gracie. Ed will be remembered for his big smiles, friendly face, and his willingness to help those in need. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Robert Goeller; grandchildren, Jamie (Michael) Eischen and Morgan Tabbert; great-grandchildren, Leighen Raetz, Michael Eischen, Jr. and Malaki Eischen; and his companion, Annie Walls. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Fredrick and Larry Roseau. Visitation for Ed will be from 3-7 PM, Monday, May 17, 2021 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, Ohio. Please observe mask and social distancing standards. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted for Ed at 10 AM, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 324, Genoa, P.O.
