Edward L. Wood (Woody)

Edward L. Wood (Woody) 79 of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Woody was born on July 26, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas. He proudly served as a mechanic with the Ohio Army National Guard from March 1969 until his retirement in August 2001.

A man who loved the outdoors, Woody found joy in hunting, fishing & spending time in the great outdoors with his friends & family. He also had a knack for uncovering treasures at local auctions, a hobby that he truly enjoyed.

Woody was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Tunnel & his brother David Wood. He is survived by his three daughters: Kelly (David) Crouch, Amy White & Erica Mendiola; as well as seven cherished grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face.

A graveside service with military honors at Roose Cemetery will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor or to Heartland Hospice in Fremont.
