Our beloved Edward “Skip” Tutak entered into the arms of the Lord on August 19th, 2025, finding eternal rest and peace in Heaven above. Though his earthly journey has ended, his spirit lives on in the promise of everlasting life. Born on January 30, 1955, in Rossford, he was the son of Edward Tutak and Gloria (Wisniewski) Bower.
Skip enjoyed a fulfilling career as an engineer with CSX, from which he later retired.
Skip was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Karen (Kopena) Tutak. Together, they shared 32 years of marriage until her passing — a union marked by deep devotion and enduring love. Skip was a selfless and caring husband and father, and later found great joy in being a grandpa. His eyes always lit up in the presence of his grandchildren. His many visits to Texas for birthdays and holidays will forever be cherished.
Skip found joy in nature, especially when fishing at the pond with his friends and brothers and hunting. He had an appreciation for music and was often found enjoying the sounds of Van Morrison, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, and Poco. He always liked a game of pool or shuffleboard and he had a love for good food, especially fish fries and meals at Cousino’s Steakhouse.
Skip’s warmth, humor, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He had an ability to bring joy to others, often through a well-timed joke.
Skip is survived by his loving daughter, Aubrey (Zachary) Coder; grandchildren Emerson, Ava, Capri, and Hudson Coder; brothers Joseph (Cindy) and Donald Tutak; brother-in-law, David Kopena; and sister-in-law, Patricia Tutak. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen; his parents, Edward Tutak and Gloria (Wisniewski) Bower; step-father, Robert Bower; and his brother, Gary Tutak. He also had many loved and cherished nieces, nephews, and long-time friends, some of whom have passed away.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Skip on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio. A memorial ceremony will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel.
