Edward C. Strohscher, 71, of Genoa, Ohio, was known as Eddie to his friends and family. Ed, my husband, my friend, passed on March 12, 2018, at 7:52 p.m. in his home as per his wishes. He died fighting a courageous battle against cancer, diagnosed this past November. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on February 1, 1947, at Riverside Hospital to Hilda Marie Cook and Robert August Strohscher. He attended Genoa elementary and Harris-Elmore High School graduating in 1965. Ed served six years in the Air Force from 1966 to 1972. In August 2001 he married Amelia Amy Ruth Hart and she survives. Ed worked as an operating engineer and retired in 2004 with 30 years of service. Ed loved to golf first and caring meticulously for his home of 30 years second. Edward is survived by his wife, Amelia; step son, Jay A. Sheets; his sister Sharon Strohscher-Stimac; step mother, Karen Kay Strohscher; step sister, Lynne Hartley and her husband and devoted best friend to Ed for 30 years, Joe Hartley; step sister, Phyllis Pinson; niece, Stacy Morse; nephews, Jarrod Worthington, John and Jeremy Shepler; and step nephews, Matthew, Brett and Brandon Hartley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilda and Robert, his sisters, Delores Shepler, Tamara Morse, Sandra Strohscher, and brother, Steven Siglar. Following his wishes to be cremated, there will be no funeral services. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials for Ed be given to a humane society of the donors choice.
