Edward Shultz, age 69, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Ed is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Jonathan, Eric Sasha, and Nathan Elaine; sister, Eleanor Householder; brothers Gerald and Thomas Shultz; and grandchildren Madison, Claire, and Camilla. Eds greatest passion was his family and preparing gourmet meals for them. Holidays were always a showcase of his culinary skills. To unwind he enjoyed early morning rounds of golf with friends, and especially with his wife, Joyce. They were one day shy of 44 years of marriage. Ed retired as Chairman and CEO of Dana Commercial Credit DCC. His proudest business accomplishment at DCC was winning the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, which was presented to Ed by President Bill Clinton. Ed instilled into his family and employees high standards of morals and ethics. He was active in the Church and community including: board of trustees for St. Francis De Sales High School and St. Lukes Hospital, advisor to the business school of the University of Toledo, Board of Directors for the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, Investment Review Committee of the Toledo Museum of Art, and member of Legatus. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 5373 Main St. Sylvania, OH. Condolences may be shared online at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
