Edward Shekut

Edward Shekut, 89, of Sylvania Township, Ohio, died on Monday, May 31, 2021 of cancer, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chicago, Illinois on May 30, 1932, Ed was a devoted husband, married to June Leuer in 1958. Ed was a loving father to Susan Shekut (Jason Porys) and Steven Shekut (Kristen Shekut). Ed was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a mechanical engineer, and a Vice President of Manufacturing at Milwaukee Faucets, Cleveland Range and Welded Tubes. Ed was also an ISO 9000 trainer, a punster, a creator, an avid recycler, a fun generator, a gardener, and an all-around phenomenal human being. He was the family filmographer, photographer, and orchestrator of many fun and happy family reunions. Ed was an amazing grandfather of Patrick Shekut, Sam Shekut and Ben Shekut, brother of William Shekut and Helen Wellastat. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe Street, Sylvania, OH 43560. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet inside the cemetery gates shortly before the start of the service. Arrangements were handled by Walker Funeral Home, Toledo (419-841-2422).
