Ed was deeply loved by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was their dear “Uncle Eddie”. Ed was inducted into the Northwestern Ohio District Basketball Officials’ Association in April, 2000. He was very proud of this recognition. His career in refereeing lasted 41 years. In addition to all of this, he also played the organ at Good Shepherd Church and for the Mud Hens games and the Goaldiggers hockey games. He was a Detroit Tigers fan to the end. While teaching, refereeing, and organizing sports, he also cared for his father, then his mother, in their declining years. Ed was a life-long member of Good Shepherd Church.
