Edward Robert Newman

Edward Robert Newman, age 95, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Friday June 26, 2015 at the Lakes of Monclova in Maumee. He was born on September 7, 1919 in Maumee, Ohio to John and Lucy (Gorney) Newman. Ed was a Army veteran and served in WWII. He worked for Western Electric for 31 years and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, American Legion, VFW, and DAV. Ed also enjoyed farming and traveling. Ed is survived by his sons, Robert (Cathy) and Rick (Bonnie), 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; grandson, Jay M. Newman; siblings, Helen Donnely, Walter Newman, Frances Miller, Pearl Hamburg, Stanley Newman and John Newman. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Lakes of Monclova for all their care and compassion for both Ed and his family. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio Monday, June 29, 2015. from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12 Noon. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.
