Edward M. Kuck

Edward M. Kuck, 84, of Catawba Island passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at his residence. He was born on October 2, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Michael and Gesine (Wenkelden) Kuck. On June 1, 1968 he married Nancy A. Kurth and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2016. Edward received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University and held various jobs throughout his career. He worked as a Quality Manager for Rhetech in Sandusky, Ohio; was the Technical Director for Ludlaw Company in Fremont, Ohio; Chief Chemist & Quality Manager at Uniroyal in Port Clinton; Chemist for Carboline Corp. in Holland, Ohio; and spent 17 years as a Quality Color Specialist at Inmont in Toledo and at the E-Z Color Corporation in Fremont, Ohio. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Port Clinton and was a member and Past President of the Port Clinton Lions Club. He enjoyed gardening, geology and classical music. Survivors include his granddaughter, Pamela Bee (fiancé , David Downey), Wayne, Ohio; grandson, Jason (April) Smith, Toledo, Ohio; granddaughter, Kim Schatz, Sugar Grove, Illinois: great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Faith, Jessica, Katie, Megan, Becca, Emma, Terreigh, David, Cayden, and Syarah; sister, Eleanor Sheronick, Oregon, Ohio; and daughter-in-law, Jane Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Jeffrey Smith; grandson, David Smith; and brother in-law, Mike Sheronick. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 10 am until Funeral Services at 11 am at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton, Ohio, with Reverend Beverly Collinsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 214 E 2nd St, Port Clinton, OH 43452.
