Dad, we will miss you. Edward O. Knab, 87, of Point Place, died December 10, 2016 at his home. He was born April 3, 1929 on a farm in Curtice to the late Albert and Mary (Sedlmeier) Knab. Ed attended St. Marys Grade School, graduated from Central Catholic High School and served our country in the United States Army. He was stationed at Landstuhl Medical Center in Germany. Ed worked as a butcher/sausage maker for more than 40 years with both Lee Williams in Point Place and Kilgus Meats. He enjoyed playing cards and had several amazing card tricks. Ed was also a fisherman and caught a prize winning yellow perch. He could often be found fiddling in his garage making bird houses or working in his yard with his tomato plants and raising his evergreens. Ed found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a strong man who could fix or build anything. Most of all you did it your way, Dad. Left to cherish his memory are his girls, Janice Knab, Barbara (Chris) Knab-Sager, Eileen Knab (Tim Holt) and Rita Knab; grandchildren, Cindy, Frankie, Keith and Jessica; step grandchildren, Barbara and Heather; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and caregivers, Lori, Juliann, Connie, Gale and Gary. He was preceded in death by his beautiful bride, Frances A. (Keefe) Knab; and step grandson, Robert. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2016. The Rev. David Cirata will preside with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Triad Group Home to assist with the care of his daughter, Rita. Goodbye Gambler, we love you. You are in Heaven now with your beloved wife.
