Edward James Kettinger, 74, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Ed was born on November 16, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, to Kenneth A. and Margaret M. (Bertok) Kettinger.
He was a 1969 graduate of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School and earned a bachelor's degree in metrology from the University of Toledo. For more than 30 years, Ed worked as a commercial airline pilot for Kalitta Air, a career that allowed him to travel the world.
Outside of work, Ed loved traveling, with Hawaii holding a special place in his heart. He cherished time spent with his sisters, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, especially during Sunday family dinners. He loved cooking and was a skillful baker.
Ed also enjoyed working on old cars, with his favorite being his Chevrolet Chevelle. He shared a special bond with his brother-in-law, Danny Thomas; the two were more like brothers, spending years working on projects together while enjoying a glass of wine.
He was always willing to help family members with home projects and could often be found tinkering in his barn. Ed was gracious, kind, and welcoming-an amazing and selfless man who generously gave his time, talents, and treasures to his family.

Thomas and Theresa (Tim) Mizer; nieces and nephews, Julie (Ryan) Powell, Katherine (Michael) Buckley, Andrew Mizer and Matthew Mizer (Sydney); great nieces and nephews, Margaret, Garrett, Abigail, Johnathan, Sean, and Madelyn.
