Edward H. Jones

Edward H. Jones, 85, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Majestic Care in Toledo. The son of Herrall E. and Anna M. (Brouwer), he was born in Point Place, Ohio on December 19, 1939. He married the love of his life, Shirley A. (Horn) in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Toledo, on September 20, 1969, and she preceded him in death on May 23, 2015.

Edward worked for many years at Toledo Hospital in the shipping department and later as a security officer for the hospital and Pinkerton Security Company. He and Shirley were very active members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church until it’s closing. They also enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, MO, to enjoy the many shows. Edward was a true lover of country music and followed Bob Wurst and the Buckeyes wherever they were playing.

Edward is survived by his children, Nancy Jones, Jack (Aimee) Jones, Linda (Amos Purtee) Rafferty and Keith Jones, grandchildren, Scott (Kristi) Jones, Steven Harris, Sean Rafferty, and Amanda Jones, great grandchildren, Seth, Abel, and Skye. His siblings included, Mary Layman, Bea Link, Ruth Small, Daniel Jones, Martha Smiar, Eleanor Jones, John Jones, Ann Naylor, Betty Amick, Bill Jones, and Richard Jones. His parents preceded him in death.

The family extends their deep appreciation to all of the staff at Majestic Care for their kindness and compassion shown to Edward while he was a resident there.

Visitation for Edward is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave. Oregon, Ohio. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at St. Richard Catholic Church, 333 Brookside, Swanton, Ohio, with visitation in the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Sharpels Cemetery, Swanton. Memorial contributions may be directed to Majestic Care, 131 N. Wheeling, Toledo, Ohio, 43605.
