Edward Heissenbuttel, 93, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefuly on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Kingston Rehab Center. He was born in South Portland, Maine on May 26, 1920 to Herman and Julia (Conley) Heissenbuttel. Edward proudly served his country in the 3rd United States Army, the 94th Infantry Division. After his faithful service he worked at the Lathrop Company for 40 years. After his retirement he worked another 20 years at Kazmaier’s Market. On June 14, 1947 he married the love of his life, Betty Coates. Together they raised their two children. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and watching baseball and football. Edward was a fan of the Detroit Tigers and Notre Dame Football. Edward is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Heissenbuttel; son, Charles Heissenbuttel; daughter, Janice (Andrew) Isakoff; grandsons, Mickey and Daniel Isakoff; brother, Joseph Conley; sister, Florence (Joseph) Erbel. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Heissenbuttel and Mary Wimar; brother, Raymond Heissenbuttel. Visitation for Edward will be Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg, OH. from 9:30 A.M.-10:30 A.M. with Mass of the Christian Burial to begin at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Funeral arrangements were handled by Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Donations in Edward’s name may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church, Cherry St. Missions or Donor’s Choice.
