Edward Farthing

Edward R. “Rick” Farthing, age 72, of Holland, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, at his home. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 13, 1949, to Edward and Dolores (Tolles). He graduated Anthony Wayne High School class of 1967 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business from Bowling Green State University. Rick was a US Air Force Veteran. He owned and operated, Edward Farthing Investments in addition to being an insurance agent. He enjoyed chess, bridge, hunting, and fishing. He was a very happy, positive, and honest man, who instilled those values in his family. His greatest joy was being with his family and playing with his 3 grandchildren. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandy; son, Jonathan (Nicole); grandchildren, Zackary, Reid, and Asher; siblings, Gary (Janie) Farthing, Rodney (Hildy) Farthing, Douglas (Diana) Farthing, Shelly (Gary) Kessler and Jamie (Debi) Willet; father, Edward R. Willet; mother-in-law, Jean Shaffer and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores; stepfather, Rodney Farthing SR; stepmother, Wilma Willet and father-in-law, Eltread Shaffer. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, Ohio on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM.
