Edward J. Chudy

Ed Chudy, 67, of Sandusky, OH passed away after a sudden illness, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH, with his wife by his side. He was born on September 27, 1941 in Graboszyce, Poland, the son of Jozef L. and Helena Lesniak Chudy. On September 14, 1996 in Sandusky, OH, he married Christine Woodruff and she survives. Ed worked as a barber in Sandusky for 45 years. He enjoyed traveling especially to Las Vegas, taking cruises, ice fishing and watching westerns. Ed loved spending time with his family and was the family handyman. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Loving Wife & Best Friend: Christine Chudy of Sandusky, OH; Daughters: Pam Michael Colbert- Brumbaugh of Sandusky, OH and Kim John Riddle of Huron, OH; Step-son: Nicholas Woodruff of Sandusky, OH; Step-Daughter: Alison Brent Crawford of Huron, OH; 6 Grandchildren: Deidre Windau, Amanda Colbert, Jacob Riddle, Kayla Riddle, Tyler Crawford and Molly Crawford; 2 Great-Grandsons: Logan Windau and Brayden Windau; Brothers: John Donna Chudy of Port Clinton, OH and Thaddeus Ted Chudy of Sandusky, OH; Sisters: Mary Ray Rust of Port Clinton, OH and Christina Eddie Martinez of Port Clinton, OH and many loving nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be 2-8PM, Thursday, August 13, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father John Missler at 10:00AM, Friday, August 14, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH, following family prayers beginning at 9:30AM in the the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society-Brain Cancer Research or Stein Hospice.
