Edna E. Sandrock, 99, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 in her residence. She was born in Hazelton, Iowa on January 21, 1922 to Fred and Olga (Tonn) Koob. She married Ralph Sandrock in Waverly, Iowa on October 23, 1945 and they celebrated 59 years together before his death on March 23, 2004. Edna was an active member and current matriarch of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, Ohio. She held a number of positions with the church including the Michigan District and Portage Conference. She also taught Sunday school for 20 years and was a member of the Women of the Church. Edna was named Mother of the Year as a member of the former Mother of Twins Club in Woodville, Ohio, while raising her children. Edna will also be remembered for her delicious baked treats. Many have shared in her sweets especially hospitals in the area that her children and grandchildren worked at. Her grandchildren will tell you though, that her chocolate chip cookies were always the best! Edna worked at the Luther Home of Mercy for over 30 years, retiring as supervisor of cottage 3. She enjoyed going to the Genoa Senior Center to play bingo & cards, where she was honored as a senior hall of fame award in 2017. Edna is survived by her son, Roland (Janice) Sandrock; daughters, Marilyn Sandrock and Carolyn Lasseter; grandchildren, Ron (Amy) Sandrock, Amy (Thomas) Wilson and Kim (Ben) Sommers; and great grandchildren, Tyler, Zach, Reece, Rylan, Caleb, Luke, Aiden, Evan, Ethan, Anna and Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Frederick Sandrock; granddaughter, Jennifer L. Johnson; brothers, Rueben, Henry, Lloyd, Arthur and Leonard Koob; sisters, Mabel Gosse and Ida Kelly; and son-in-law, Emory Lasseter. Visitation for Edna will be from 9-11 AM, Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, Ohio, with a funeral service starting at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. Masks and social distancing will be required at all times. It is suggested that memorial contributions be to the Jennifer L.
