Edna Louise Robeson

Edna Louise Robeson age 94 of Perrysburg, OH passed away on May 12, 2023. She was born in Maumee, OH on February 22, 1929, to Clarence (Cak) and Cecil French. Edna grew up in Maumee and graduated from Maumee High School in 1947 and married Ray E. Robeson at which time, they moved to Perrysburg.


During the resulting years of marriage and raising a family, Edna became known for her homemade mac & cheese as well as her Italian macaroni passed on from Cecil French. She enjoyed years of camping with their Hi-Lo camper, volunteering at the Baptist Center in Toledo and baking dozens and dozens of Christmas cookies to pass out to all she knew. Edna and Ray bought a cottage near Grand Rapids, OH and renovated it providing a wonderful location for many family reunions.


After a stroke in 1990, Edna walked a 12 ½ mile walk for the March of Dimes arriving last and escorted by the Maumee Fire Division EMT squad, who even after pleading with her to allow them to take her to the finish line, she refused. She would not be held back from completing her journey resting every 100 ft or so on a chair placed in her path by the EMT’s. Edna was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Perrysburg, belonging to the Joy Club.


Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son, Kenneth Raymond, and brothers, Vernon and Jim French. She is survived by her sons, Michael Lynn (Sharon) and John Steven (Karen) Robeson; sisters, Helen Denniss, Ila Myers, Karen (Fred) Hall and brother, John (Carol) French and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Interment will be private for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Humane Society.
