Edna Alice Miller

Edna K. Miller, age 89 of Maumee passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee. Edna was born in Maumee on April 9, 1921 to Moritz T. and Hazel D. Chambers Kumpe. Edna was a secretary at Proctor and Gamble for 21 years retiring in 1982. Her memberships included, 50 year member of Maumee United Methodist Church and its womens club, River Road Garden Club, Laurel Hills and a 40 year member of Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her sister, Mary K. Southerland of Lawrenceburg, IN; niece, Rebecca K. James Elliott of Maumee, OH, David A. Rosemarie Kumpe, MD of Denver, CO, Charles W. Worden, Jr. of Toledo, OH and Carol Kumpe of Perrysburg, OH. Also surviving are many great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross E. Miller in 1990; brothers, Dr. Carl Kumpe and Robert Kumpe and sister, Ruth Pasternak. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant, Maumee on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 2-8 pm, with Order of Eastern Star services at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 10:00 am at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St. Maumee, OH. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
