Edna C. Finkler

Edna Catherine Siefker Finkler, sweetheart, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Saturday November 15, 2008 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Edna was born in Kalida, OH on June 24, 1914 to Leo and Cornelia Siefker. Edna retired in 1983 as manager of the cafeteria at Libby High School. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed nothing as much as cooking and having her family together for Christmas and birthday dinners. Until her illness, she was an active member of American Legion Vernon McCune Post Auxiliary and of the Salesian Club. Her love of beauty and flowers were reflected in her yard and garden. Edna could be seen crawling along the ground until her 90s planting her favorite annuals. She is survived by her sweetheart of 60 years, George; sons, Michael Rose, James Mary; grandsons, Andrew Kassia, Phillip Adriann, Michael Andrea, Ellen Charles Aring, Patrick Christina, David Kimberly, Christopher and Donald; step-grandchildren, Samuel, Jonathan and Jessica Farmer; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Maxwell, Theodore, Katharine, Lilly, Caleb, Owen, Megan and Chloe. Her family wishes to acknowledge and thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their kindness and compassion. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee on Monday November 17th, 2008 from 4-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-9 pm with the Salesian Club reciting the Rosary at 4:00 pm. and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 9:15 am followed by the funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Toledo. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Choir.
