Edna Bazura

Edna Bazura, beloved and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on Saturday, September 22, 2012 in her current home in Maumee. Born in Brooklyn, New York on September 6, 1914, to Elizabeth and Edward Birkle, she always had a special spot in her heart for New York City. She charmed everyone she knew with her laughter, kindness, and understanding, making friends and admirers of people of all ages throughout her life. Edna was a proud graduate of Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York. She was a homemaker who enriched the lives of her family, and was employed as a secretary at Vanderveer Park Methodist Church and Phelps Dodge Corporation. Upon retirement she moved with her husband, Frank, to Trevorton, Pennsylvania, and later came to live in Toledo and then Maumee. Edna is survived by her daughters, Barbara Bazura Coleman of Maumee, Ohio and Margaret Bazura of Walton, New York; grandchildren Peter Coleman, Benjamin Coleman, David Hopkins, and Lisa Weber; and great-grandchildren Seth and Sharon Coleman, Jace Hopkins, and Kurt and Abby Weber. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her sister, Margaret Birkle and son-in-law, Walter Coleman. Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 24, 2012 from 4-7 pm at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, West of Corey Rd. Toledo, OH. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Monroe Street United Methodist Church, 3613 Monroe Street, Toledo OH.
