Edith L. Proshek, 71, of Holland, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Edee was born August 17, 1951, in Fort Knox, KY to Edward and Henrietta (Vavrik) Kleinfelter. She was a 1969 graduate of Perrysburg High School. Edee married Rodney Proshek on March 17, 1978, and they shared 44 years together.
Edee worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. She loved traveling to see new places. Her favorites included Hawaii, Florida, and Myrtle Beach. She enjoyed shopping everywhere she went, particularly for American Girl dolls and Hummel figurines. She had a passion for bingo where she tended to win often.
Edee is survived by her husband, Rodney; sons Gary (Kristie) Clement, Ryan Proshek, and Corey Proshek and her numerous grandchildren; Alexander, Charlotte, Mike, Caylee, Draven, Stefani, Destin, Alexis, Kaydence, Kalli, Kenzi, Rylli, and Bishop; and great granddaughter Marceline. She is also survived by her siblings; Joyce (Fritz) Goeckerman, Patricia Bunde, Thomas (Lindy) Kleinfelter, Paula (Mark) Joehlin, Ronald (Amy) Kleinfelter, Heidi (Andy) Beier; in-laws, Mike Wells, Wesley Proshek, Debbie (Robert) Haack, Clifford (Peggy) Proshek and Lee (Lisa) Proshek; many loving nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Margie Grose.
Edee was preceded in death by her son, Steven Proshek; her parents; her siblings, Karen Wells, Edwin and Daniel Kleinfelter; brothers-in-law, Larry Proshek, Marty Proshek, Jeff Bunde and sister-in-law, Diane Proshek.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorial donations in Edee’s name may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
