Edgar Jean Pierson

Edgar J. Pierson, age 84, passed away Saturday Oct. 6, 2012 at Ebeid Hospice. The son of Jean and Georgiana, he was born Jan. 18, 1928 in Coventry, RI. He served his country in The U.S. Army being honorably discharged in 1947. He married the love of his life, Mary Galow on Sept. 2, 1950 in Toledo. Edgar worked for Ohmeda as a sales rep. until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church where he was active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He enjoyed boating and was a past member of the Bay View Yacht Club. He was an avid amateur radio operator since the 50s and volunteered at St. Anne Mercy hospital. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Jennifer Don Harmon, Denise VanDeilen, Stephen Betty Pierson, Diane Joseph Pokrywka; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas; siblings, Lionel, Norbert and Richard Pierson, Dorothy St. Jean and Charlene Pierson. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 2-9 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 Pm at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd. Funeral Services will begin with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church.
