Edgar O. Dr. Kelley

Dr. Edgar O. Kelley, 86, of Perrysburg, OH went with the Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 11, 1928 in Laurelville, OH to Dr. Edgar Davis and Edith L. (Mobberly) Kelley and was married to his sweetheart, Joyce Ann Swepston, on March 23, 1952. He was a 1958 graduate from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and began his practice shortly thereafter in Perrysburg retiring in 2011. Ed was a member of Phoenix Lodge #123 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Zenobia Shrine, the Jesters, and was one of the original Shrine Lancers. E.O. was hospital chairman, as well as transportation chairman for the Shrine Crippled Children’s Transportation Roadrunners. Active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years, as Scout Master for Troop #110, adult leader training, chairman of the Turkey Foot District and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. Edgar served in Korea as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a long standing member of Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. A founding member of the B.E.F. (Bridge, Eat, Fish) Club, as well as the Myrtle Beach 8 Golf Group, Edgar loved traveling and enjoying time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann; children, Kris S. (Monica) Kelley of Perrysburg, Suzanne S. (Greg) Stahl of Kansas, OH, and Brian S. (Carolyn) Kelley of Powell, OH; grandchildren, Lauren, Sean, Leighanne, Madelyn, Erin, Daniel; great-grandchild, A’miyah (Sweetpea) ; sister, Eleanor (Robert) Bowers of Laurelville, OH. Friends will be received from 3-7 P.M. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where Phoenix Masonic Lodge Services will be at 7 P.M.. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
