Ed Alliman, 74, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Friday early evening, January 27, 2012, in The Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. He was born October 28, 1937, in Toledo to Edward J. and Dorothy Hearn Alliman. He married Sharron J. Walters on January 21, 1961, in Monroe, Michigan, and she survives. After 47 years Ed retired in 2003 from Port Clinton Manufacturing, where he worked as a machinist. He was a past member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton. Ed and his wife raised, bred and showed miniature horses since 1984 on their farm, Alliman Joy Farm. Ed enjoyed golfing and, in his earlier years, sailing. Ed is survived by his wife, Sharron, daughters, Dawn Tim Mansfield of Continental, OH, and Cindy Searight of Port Clinton, son Edward Tedd Jenny Alliman of Fremont, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters, Nancy Harold Hoffman and Susan Walt Meyers, and brother Gerald Liz Alliman, all of Toledo. His parents and an infant sibling preceded him in death. A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 1-4 p.m. in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St, Oak Harbor. Memorials may be directed to H.B. Magruder Hospital or to the Ottawa County Humane Society.
