Earl H. Weidner

March 16, 1931 — April 24, 2021

Earl H. Weidner, 90, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home with his family on April 24, 2021. He was born in Bono, Ohio on March 16, 1931, the fifth child and only son, of Milton F. and Minnie E. (Johns) Weidner. He married the love of his life, Patricia A. (Cousino), at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Blackberry Corners, (Martin, Ohio) on June 14, 1952. Earl was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and taught them all the satisfaction and pride that comes with hard work. He farmed for many years, raising many varieties of market produce such as sweet corn, pickles, melons, tomatoes along with sugar beets and grain crops. Earl also worked winters at the American Shipyard and drove truck for various companies, including hauling cabbage in Florida during the winter months. He was not afraid to put in long days to provide for his wife and family. Earl will also be remembered for his generous nature; always willing to lend a hand wherever and whenever it was needed. His loving family includes his wife of 69 years, Patricia, children, Gail (Jon) Overmyer, Michael (Rebecca) Weidner, Kathy (Kevin) Fox and John (Susan) Weidner, 16 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Ruth Weidner, Hazel Meinke, Evelyn Fasnaugh and Alice Butzin. Earl’s family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of his life, on Sunday May 2, 2021 at Ole Zim’s Wagon Shed, 1375 N. St. Rt. 590, Gibsonburg, Ohio. Visitation will begin 4:00 PM followed at 4:30 PM by a time of sharing and remembrances. A buffet supper will be served and it is required that a mask be worn while at the buffet table.
