Earl Raymond Streiffert, 97, of Elmore, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, November 7, 2018, surrounded by family at his residence. Earl was born in Elmore, Ohio, on March 23, 1921, the son of Helen and William Streiffert. Earl, a distinguished naval petty officer during WWII, worked in farming in Elmore and in Gaylord, Michigan. He was an Operating Engineer and member of the IUOE Local 19, where his last project was working as a crane operator building the David Besse Nuclear Power Plant. Earl was a Masonic member and a member of the Zenobia Shrine; he also loved aviation and flying airplanes, which influenced him to become an avid member of the Harr Airport in Elmore in 1947. Earl also became infatuated with lake life and being on or near the water, where he could be found fishing for walleye and bass, which eventually led him to building a lake house on Lake Erie. He also purchased a home on Kissimmee River in Florida. Left to treasure his memory are his children, Robert (Susan) William Streiffert, Debra Brenneman; grandchildren, Robert Streiffert, Lynn (Fred) Kenny, Lori (Aaron) Dolph, Kristi (Tony) Reyome, Matt Tenney, Andew Tenney and Cassandra Brenneman; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Helen and William Streiffert, sister, Marion and brother, Clarence. Per Earls wishes there will be no services. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, Ohio 43430. Memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice.
