Earl Sparks

Earl Sparks, 90, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away at his home on January 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 19, 1927 in Ivyton, Kentucky to Fred and Marybelle (Marshall) Sparks and he married Vaudia “Faye” Conley on March 19, 1949 in Salyersville, Kentucky. Earl was employed for over 27 years as a welder for Art Iron before retiring. He was a member of Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a song leader. He loved to sing, especially gospel. Earl enjoyed sitting on his porch as well as gardening. Earl is survived by his loving children, Dorinda (Edmond) Watkins, Susan (George) Chamberlain, Russell (Nancy) Sparks, Earl (Jodelle) Sparks, Cindy Sandwisch and Shawnee Sparks; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; siblings, Ruben (Rella) Sparks, Fred (Opal) Sparks, Jr., Harold “Buddy” Sparks and William “Glenn” (Joyce) Sparks; daughter-in-law, Debbie Sparks and brother-in-law, Elzie “Boo” Conley, Jr. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vaudia “Faye”, parents, Fred and Marybelle, sons, Dan and Don, a grandson, a great granddaughter, son-in-law Tom Sandwisch, three sisters and one brother. Friends will be received on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121). Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
