Earl W. Moore, 82, of Oak Harbor went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, September 18, 2008, in the Genoa Retirement Village. Earl was born February 8, 1926, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to Harold G. and Doris O. Kleinhans Moore. He was a 1944 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and President of his class. On June 18, 1950, at Pleasant View United Brethren Church near Fostoria, Ohio, he married Ola Mae Stoner and she survives. Earl was a dairy farmer for over 50 years and was very inventive in his farm repairs and the use of the welder. He was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Gideons International until 1995 and attended Grace Baptist Church in Oak Harbor. Earl was a born-again Christian and enjoyed reading the Bible and wanted to honor the Lord in all that he did. He served on the Oak Harbor School Board from 1963-1975 and was President of the Board at the time of the merger of the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District. In addition to his wife, Ola Mae, Earl is survived by his children: John E. Connie Moore of Oak Harbor, Robert D. Julie Moore of Biglerville, PA, Mary A. Dick Wood of Graytown, and Nancy L. Lynn McNutt and Sandra K. John Young both of Oak Harbor. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Justin Katy Moore, Jordan Moore, Elliot Lauren Moore, Evan Moore, Olivia Moore, Adam Leah Wood, Brian, Curtis, and Derek Wood, Brittany, Gregory, and Bethany McNutt, Joshua, Kevin, and Steven Young; his brother, Charles Evalyn Moore of Oak Harbor and sister, Mary Jane Walter Henry of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Archie, Howard, Ralph, and Richard Moore. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2008, at Oak Harbor United Brethren Church. Interment will take place in Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, Ohio, at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions for Earl may be directed to the Genoa Retirement Village 300 Wing, the Gideons International, Carroll Twp. EMS, the Memory Walk at Benton-Carroll-Salem High School, a church of the donors choice, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or OCTA.
