Earl E. Liljequist, age 95, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. The son of Victor and Ellen, he was born April 25, 1922 in Toledo. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He served in Sicily, Rome-Arno, Rhineland, South France, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He received the EAME Theatre service medal with 3 bronze stars. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Earl had the privilege of going on Honor Flight. He was a talented artist who loved to paint. He also made patriotic bird houses that he would donate to veteran groups and churches. He was a member of Whiteford Wesleyan Church. He worked for Jeep for over 23 years. He was also a member of VFW, American Legion, Toledo Zoo, Museum of Art and Valentine Theatre. He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne (Stephen) Gill, Sharon (Robert) Brighton; daughter-in-law, Kathie Polhe; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces, Sandi (Mike) Sesock, Lynn Horen and Julie Kosinski. He was preceded by his wife, Delma and his first wife, Dorothy; brother, Eric; sisters, Eleanor, Edith and Doris. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) where services will be held at 2:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Toledo Animal Shelter 640 Wyman St Toledo, OH 43609.
