E. James Wolff Jr., age 87, of Toledo passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born July 4, 1924, in Toledo to Edwin and Antoinette Wolff. Jim attended McKinley grade school and graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1942 where he was a City of Toledo high school tennis champion. He attended Bowdoin College in Maine while in the service of his country and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Toledo University where he was a member of Sigma Beta Phi Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. In 1950 Jim married Marilyn Hellrung to whom he remained devoted for 62 years. He was a loving father and grandfather to his 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Jim retired as Inside Sales Manager from Baron Drawn Steel Corporation in 1992 after 44 years of service. After retirement he volunteered as a Golden Apple, tutoring grade school children. An avid tennis player and longtime member of the Toledo Tennis Club, Jim continued to play regularly until age 76. He was a member of the University of Toledo Alumni Association and a member of Corpus Christi Parish where he was coordinator of the hospitality program. He was also a former board member of Friends of the Library, a member of The Toledo Museum of Art, The Toledo Area Metroparks, and Heartbeat of Toledo. Jim was a very kind and thoughtful person, loved by everyonewho knew him. Preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Marilyn Wolff, and sister, Jane Smith; he is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, E. James Ruth Wolff III, Thomas Aileen Wolff and William Amy Wolff; daughters, Linda Dave Dorley and Laura Robert Rader; sister, Virginia Saylor; grandchildren, David and Peter Dorley, Elizabeth Dorley Conrad, Andrew, Matthew and Stephen Rader, Maureen, Jacob, Leah Wolff, Patrick, Michael and Jack Wolff, and 8 great-grandchildren. Friends may visit the family on Monday, May 28, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday May 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi University Parish where visitation will take place one hour prior. Interment will be private.
