E. Marilyn Schmidt

E. Marilyn Schmidt, age 82, of Maumee, Ohio died on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on July 10, 1931 to John and Cecil Westfal Canode in Maumee, Ohio. Marilyn was a lifetime member of the Maumee United Methodist Church. She loved to go bowling, work on craft projects and played Bunco for over 40 years. She was an avid reader, especially Danielle Steele novels. Marilyn was always baking or cooking up one of her specialties, and was widely known for her Christmas cookies. She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence; daughters, Robin Pete Pressnell and Vicki John Niefer; grandchildren, Tina, Sarah, Mari, Nathan, Mikal, Jenna and Sam; and 7 great grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by her honorary daughters, Jean Joseph Papp and Amy Todd Hendricks. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may gather at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, Ohio on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. There will be a private interment at Swan Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
