Reidling Dwight Dwight Reidling age 64 of Toledo passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born in Fremont, Ohio on July 30, 1944 to Charles and Mildred Reidling. He and his brothers were raised by their grandparents in Amsden, Ohio. He attended Lakota High School and after serving in the US Navy he moved to Toledo and began as a roofer working with his father at Nordman Roofing. After working for several different companies and seeing a need for seamless commercial gutters, he designed and built a machine for making gutters and began working out of his home. Dwight later created and owned Metal Pro Manufacturing in the early 1980s, running his successful business for nearly 30 years. An avid sprint car enthusiast, he began his career in sprint cars in 1965 after being introduced to the sport by his brother Raymond. Dwight began as a mechanic for a friend, then later purchased his own car. After more than 10 years as an owner or chief mechanic with several cars he put his checkbook and tools away to help his wife raise their children. In 1991 with both children grown he returned to sprint cars owning and campaigning a car with his brother Raymond and friends Ronald Antoszewski, Howard Stone and Frank Cherry until 2002. He continued to help several other drivers until just recently. Surviving are his children Steve and Angie Reidling; brothers Jerald and Raymond Reidling; and longtime friend Ronald Antoszewski.
