Dwight Holland Kasten, Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully in his home on August 22, 2016. A native of Toledo, Dwight was born May 15, 1933 to the late Charles Leo Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Holland) Kasten. Dwight served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-57 and worked as a real estate broker, operating Century 21 Kasten Realty, for many years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, 32-year member and past director of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was also active for many years with the Toledo Chamber of Commerce and the last surviving charter member of 33 for Charity. In his free time, Dwight enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards. He was loving, kind and a good friend to many and will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 31 years, Molly McIntire; children, Katherine Redd (William), Dwight Kasten, Jr. (Dana), Christopher Khan (Vivian), Mary Kay Moncher, and Karla Ann Porter; grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicholas, Benjamin, Jacob, Bryan, Stephanie, Christina, Patrick and Cornelia; great granddaughter, Harriet; nephew, Charles L. Kasten III (Sandra); and niece, Sherry Kasten-Martin (Bob). Dwight was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles L. Kasten, Jr.; sister-in-law, Barbara Maxine Kasten; great nephew, Charles L. Kasten IV; and great niece Dayna Kasten-Briggs. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Services and burial will be private. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
