Dwayne E. Hoeft, 83, of Martin, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born in Martin, Ohio on January 21, 1938, the son of Vern and Alice (Younker) Hoeft. He graduated from Genoa High School in 1956 and married the love of his life, Eva K. (Bittner) in Elliston, Ohio on May 17, 1957. He and Eva were very faithful and active members of Trinity United Church of Christ, in Elliston, Ohio, for many years. Dwayne was a truck driver for 30 years hauling steel across Ohio for Globe Trucking. He was proud that he hauled steel to the Toledo Jeep Plant many times throughout his career. Dwayne also farmed for most of his life, retiring in 1989. Dwayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who looked forward to all family activities especially his grandchildren’s athletic events, camping and traveling. Dwayne had a knack for woodworking, creating special nativity pieces, bird houses and furniture for his family and friends. He looked forward to hunting and fishing and in later years he liked to sit on his deck just enjoying the great outdoors. Dwayne is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Eva, daughters, Beth (Tim) Powers, Tammy (Doug) Asher and son, Marty (Kristi) Hoeft, grandchildren, Joshua (Lindsay) Powers, Andrea (Jimmy) Gaul, Erica (Sean) Hall, Anthony (Jessica) Asher, Krissy Asher, Sean Hoeft and Evan Hoeft, great-grandchildren, Christian, Elijah, Avery, Timmy, Bella, Scarlett, Grant, Jasey & Jozey. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Earl Hoeft and sisters, Evelyn Gerkensmeyer and Bernadine Dipman. Visitation will be conducted at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, Ohio, on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 3:00-7:00 PM. The funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 17955 W. 3rd Street, Elliston, Ohio. Interment will take place in the Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, Ohio. Immediately following the graveside service there will be a time of fellowship and meal served in the church hall, all are invited to come and celebrate Dwayne’s life.
